About Doug

Doug’s career as a Vancouver real estate agent began in the spring of 2006. He feels he was destined to be in sales, having come from a long line of sales people in his family.

Doug believes in empowering his clients without any pressure or personal motive. He is known for his ability to reduce his clients’ stress during a transaction and is always prompt and thorough with documentation, information and advice. Trust is the basis of any great relationship and Doug continually wins that of his clients through honesty and integrity.

He grew up in Toronto and lived there until the age of 18. He then spent the last semester of high school in the South of France, which gave him an opportunity to broaden his horizons, travel and experience other cultures. Skiing was just as much a priority as school for Doug, and he was fortunate enough to attend the 1992 Winter Olympics and ski the French, Swiss and Italian Alps. Doug’s university days brought him to UBC and he has never looked back. Since then, Doug has lived in various Vancouver and North Vancouver neighbourhoods, as well as travelling throughout B.C. and Alberta tree planting. Before finally settling down in real estate, he spent 3 winters in Whistler enjoying the ski life.

In addition to skiing, Doug and his wife, Alix love to snow shoe, enjoy multi-day ocean kayaking, camping, scuba diving and he plays ultimate Frisbee year round. Doug has also become somewhat of a beer aficionado, attending all the new nano breweries ‘hopping’ up in East Van.

Doug supports meal programs at local East Van schools through The Vancouver Sun’s Raise a Reader scheme. He has a burgeoning passion for jazz music and has been slowly learning to play tenor saxophone.
